Dead zones no more with dlinkap.local extender setup

I am a tutor in an online tutoring platform and I have been teaching there for about 7 years. I go to my tutoring academy and record videos from there. The entire academy is fully equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi without any latency or lag whatsoever. I record my videos every day then head over to my cabin for a live session where my students can ask me their doubts. This is what happens every day. Since my office is equipped with such amazing Wi-Fi I often use it for all my purposes and so I don’t have a Wi-Fi connection at home. I download streaming content from the internet onto my personal computer and I also answer all of my emails and complete other tasks that require an internet connection while I’m in my office itself. But now that we are all stuck in quarantine I bought a Wi-Fi router and got an internet connection. It worked well for a while but it wasn’t very stable in long-range and often my laptop got disconnected when I was in a meeting. I decided that this Wi-Fi router wasn’t going to cut it so I purchased a dlink extender after searching online. It was really cost-effective and performed really well. It also had an edge over other extenders as it offered more features than most of the extenders. I set it up using dlinkap.local extender setup link. However, you can set it up any way you want. The setup instructions are given below.

Setting up the dlinkap.local extender setup

The setup process is very simple and there are a number of ways to do them. I set up the extender in about 10 minutes.  Anyone can set up the extender as it isn’t at all complicated. Before setting up the extender carefully unbox it and remove all the pieces of packaging, then plug it into a power socket and turn it on. Now, once the extender has been turned on you can set it up using one of two ways either by using an ethernet cable or by wirelessly connecting it with your smartphone. To set it up using an ethernet cable connect the ethernet cable to the extender and then insert the other end into your personal computer. And head over to the default gateway by typing in the default i.p address and enter your login credentials or you can also head over to the http://dlinkap.local page and set up the extender from there.

This concludes the dlinkap.local browser setup. After logging into the page you can change the SSID and password of your extender and set it as a different AP. Or you can connect to your existing router by selecting the scan option and clicking on your router from the list of available devices.

D-link setup WPS

You can also set-up the extender wirelessly and to do that make sure that the extender is connected with your smartphone or laptop. Then the D-link setup process is the same. After the setup has been completed enter the login information to connect other devices. You can also set-up the extender using the WPS button, to do that press and hold the WPS button. At the back of the extender for about 5 seconds till the lights start flashing, then do the same on the main Wi-Fi router. Once the connection has been established you will see that the internet symbol will have turned on. If you want to further modify your access point then go to dlinkap.local setup Access point.

Dlink Extender troubleshooting and firmware update

If you have any difficulties logging to dlink ap.local login page or if you have trouble setting up via WPS then visit dlinkap.local. WPS setup page and try it from there and if that doesn’t work then try rebooting the extender. If all else fails factory reset your extender. To do that press and hold the reset button for 2 seconds till the lights start flashing. Rapidly then wait for 2 minutes till the device completes the resetting process. Now the device has been restored to its default state. So make sure to set it up again before going any further. This reset will also solve any minor bugs or errors that may have occurred during the set-up.
